Sunday Snippet #31

Where they arrive at the theatre…

If you have not read the previous Sunday Snippets, I recommend doing so first.  You can find them here.
Previously on Sunday Snippets: Graeme and Delaney are riding across London on their way to the theatre.

“You always have a choice,” he said, puzzled by her words.
“Of course,” she said frostily, turning away from him to face out the window, her fingertips resting lightly on the glass pane.
Graeme felt his temper rise at her cut.
“Forgive me, my dear,” he began, his voice sounding strained even to his own ears, “for some reason I can’t shake the idea that I have offended you in some way.”
“Why ever would you think that?” she turned to him, the look of innocence on her face completely contrary to the sarcasm lacing her voice.
Graeme narrowed his eyes at her, not believing for a single moment that she was as innocent as she looked.  He bit back his retort as the carriage slowed to a halt.
“We have arrived,” he said instead, opening the door and stepping out.

Oh, Graeme is onto her game now.  He may not know what game she is playing, but at least he as come to realise that all is not well where his wife is concerned.  If only the carriage ride had lasted a few minutes longer…

It is a very quiet house now that Fave Niece and Fave Nephie have left back for New York with their parents.  While I got absolutely no work done, it was nice to see their laughing, happy faces everyday.

There are only two weeks left until the California Dreamin’ Writers Conference.  My synopsis will be completed tomorrow, then I can work on memorising it as my pitch.  Two weeks sounds like a lot of time, but factoring in the Day Job almost six days a week, it’s really not that much!

As always, comments and questions are more than welcome.  For more great stories by great writers, be sure to visit the WeWriWa blog and the Snippet Sunday Facebook page.

Happy reading and I’ll see you next week!
