Sunday Snippet #35

Where she is revealed…

If you have not read the previous Sunday Snippets, I recommend doing so first. You can find them here.
Previously on Sunday Snippets: Delaney and Graeme attend the theatre, where her slight revenge against his overbearing manner is about to backfire.

~oOo~

Delaney looked up and met Graeme’s eyes, saw the wicked glint in the moss-green depths, and too late, the realization came to her.  He knew – had known for some time – that she had something planned and that it was under her cloak.
“Don’t do this,” she said softly so that only he could hear.
He didn’t say anything, just continued to un-latch the frogs holding her cloak shut.
Lifting her chin, she met his gaze, mentally bracing herself as the heavy material slid from her shoulders.  She heard the sharp intake of breath as Graeme’s gaze slid over her form, lingering at the low cut bodice she and Nancy had altered earlier in the evening – a bodice they had cut low enough no respectable would ever wear out in public.
His eyes met hers, and where she expected to see anger, instead she saw surprise, amusement and something that made her all too uncomfortable.
Desire.

And she is revealed. Much to her chagrin, her husband was well aware she had something up her figurative sleeve. Her pride just wouldn’t allow her to back down when confronted.
Thanks to a WordPress glitch, my post showed up blank this morning  thanks for bearing with me while I scrambled to repost from earlier saves.
I’m still in revision mode, but it’s going easier. It looks like I will be completed on schedule. Nightmares not withdtanig, it’s going well. :)
It’s been a busy week. Check out my recap of the California Dreamin’ conference recap, and stay tuned to Facebook, as I’ll be guest blogging later this week.
As always, comments are more than welcome. Don’t forget to check out more writing by wonderful authors at the WeWriWa blog & Snippet Sunday Facebook page.
Happy reading and I’ll see you next week!
