Sunday Snippet #37

Where they share a moment…

If you have not read the previous Sunday Snippets, I recommend doing so first.  You can find them here.

Previously on Sunday Snippets: Graeme, having removed Delaney’s cloak, had a good look at her altered gown for the first time.

His wife lowered her face, pressing her gloved hands to her flushed cheeks.
Graeme reached out and gently pulled her hands away, turning to kiss each palm once before letting them go. Cupping her jaw with his hand, he tilted her face upwards, but she refused to meet his eyes, choosing instead to keep her gaze focused on his waistcoat buttons.
“You are my duchess now,” he said softly, caressing her lower lip with his thumb. “You hide yourself from no one – not ever.”
She looked looked up sharply at his words, chocolate brown eyes meeting his, and he saw the moment when they came to a silent understanding.
Behind them, someone cleared their throat. “Would you like us to leave you two lovebirds alone?”

Oh…my…what a moment it is! Almost as if they were in their own little bubble of intimacy. Then someone has to go and ruin the mood. Sheesh! :)

This will prove to be a good week. I’ll have nearly a week off from the Day Job. Six days to dedicate to writing and a room takeover so I can set up my office. By the time all is said and done, I should be nearly done with round one of rewrites, then it’s off to beta readers.

There’s a sort of safety in being unpublished. No actual deadlines and no one to answer to except myself. That’s all changing. Now that I’ve had requests, my local chapter mates and my Day Job coworkers are keeping me to task and making sure I meet my goals. So much support where I never thought I’d get it. Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. :)

As always, comments are more than welcome. Don’t forget to stop by the WeWriWa blog and Snippet Sunday Facebook page for more great snippets from great writers.

Happy reading and I’ll see you next week!
