Sunday Snippet #53

Where they try to communicate…

If you have not read the previous Sunday Snippets, I recommend doing so first. You can find them here.
Previously on Sunday Snippets: Delaney is discovered in her alcove by her husband after fleeing his embrace.

“Come.”

Graeme reached out a gloved hand, his movements slow, careful almost, as if he were trying not to startle her. Squaring her shoulders, she placed her hand in his and let him draw her out of the alcove and into the dim light of the corridor. He stared at their hands for a moment, her small bare fingers a sharp contrast against his black-clad palm.

“I won’t apologise for what happened,” she said with a stubborn lift of her chin.
He looked up at that, eyebrow raised, surprise writ on his face.
“I would not expect it of you. I, on the other hand, express my sincerest apologies for what has transpired.”
Delaney felt her brows lower in irritation and she opened her mouth to reply, but he placed a finger to her lips, forestalling any further conversation.
“Let us go home, you and I, and we can discuss this further. Out of the public eye.”

He’s trying. Graeme truly is trying to be a husband and a duke, and to prove himself on the eyes of society. But he’s still learning his way and stumbling about. I have no doubt Delaney will set him straight! At least they are gearing up for a chat. They have much to discuss when they return home.

Not much to say this week. Just writing away at this story to get it finished for what I have planned for it in the next couple of months. With everything I have planned for the next four months, my research trip to London has been postponed from October until March of next year. That just gives me extra time to plan. :)

As always, comments are more than welcome. For more lovely snippets by lovely writers, stop by  WeWriWa and Snippet Sunday.

Happy reading and I’ll see you next week!
