About a month ago, someone posted a question on Twitter asking followers to list an author for whom they would drop everything and read their work. I’ll admit, I was intrigued by that, yet could honestly not answer that question.
Sure I could list the authors whose entire back-list I have (or am in the process of buying) and even make recommendations as to which of the books they should read first. But I didn’t answer at that time.
My problem with the question stemmed not from the question itself or my response, but from Twitter itself.
ONLY 140 CHARACTERS, ARE YOU CRAZY?!
By the time I retweet, tag an author and list the title of the book, there are hardly any characters left. So I opted not to answer the question on Twitter and decided to answer it here.
My “Drop Everything and Read Authors” are…
…too numerous to list!
I know, that was mean of me.
I am one of those people who can go on and on about books, just ask my co-workers! Not only am I likely to give you author and book, but also why they are on my favorites list.
“But, Christina,” you say, “this is your blog. Just list them all here.”
Yes, I can use more than 140 characters here, but you would be reading for months and it would be the blog post that never ends. So instead, I am starting a new feature: What Are You Reading Wednesday where I’ll list the book I’m reading that week, the author and why I love it so much.
Join me here on Wednesdays. On twitter, tag the author you’re currently reading, then follow the link and let us know what book you’re reading and what you think of it.
Tag it on Twitter using #WhatAreYouReadingWednesday!
