Sunday Snippet #10

Where he starts to open up…

If you have not read the previous Sunday Snippets, I recommend you do so first.  You can find them here:

Where he goes for a walk…
Where he meets up with a friend…

Previously on Sunday Snippets:

Graeme, Duke of Claremont, walks the streets of London, deep in thought. When his friend Stryker meets up with him and attempts to tease him into a better mood, Graeme only responds with silence.

Frustrated, Graeme raked his hand through his hair, knocking his hat off in the process, which only furthered to increase his frustration. Fumbling to catch it, he overstepped into the street and barely dodged the approaching coach and four.
“I shouted at her,” he said, slapping the hat, removing invisible dust from the fine material before slamming it back on his head.
“The Ice Duke of Claremont raised his voice?” Stryker turned to face his friend, a look of mock astonishment on his face.
Graeme treated him to a withering glare, causing Stryker to laugh aloud.

“Don’t give me that look, you enjoy the name and you know it; it has made you mysterious and fierce and no man can argue against The Eyebrow.”

Graeme raised The Eyebrow in question in a stern, imperious manner, but the effect was lost when he broke down and laughed. His laughter faded as he recalled his words of the previous afternoon.

I do love these characters together!  They are such good friends, and give each other the ability to vent and express themselves as each other and not as what society thinks they should be. Stryker is such a good natured fellow and his lightheartedness is so opposite from Graeme’s seriousness – they would make the best buddy story if this wasn’t a romance!
