Graeme is getting a quick education on the proper gift to give his wife in apology for losing his temper.  When he suggests ear bobs to match the string of pearls she wears, Stryker sets him straight.

“But a wife,” – he [Stryker] sighed with wistful longing – “a wife you drape in jewels.”

An image sprang unexpectedly to Graeme’s mind.  Delaney, lying in his bed, one arm stretched above her head, honey-blonde hair spread about the pillow in lush, golden waves.  Around her throat she wore an elaborate garnet necklace.
And nothing else.
Her pale, smooth skin was the perfect backdrop for the deep red of the gems.  A teasing smile played at the edge of her lips as she toyed with the garnets that dipped between the gentle swell of her breasts. The urge to return home right now and turn this vision into a reality became almost too much for him to bear.

I did mention this was a romance, right?

While I don’t write erotica, I am not shying away from what make a romance a romance, including the steamy bits.  But, I promise to keep it clean while posting here.  No more than a PG-13 rating – anything more and I couldn’t post it without one of those pesky “adult content” warnings that some blogs get.  :)
