Sunday Snippet #17

Where he comes home with a plan…

If you have not read the previous Sunday Snippets, I recommend doing so first.  You can find them here.
Previously on Sunday Snippets:

Graeme received some advice from his friend on how to woo his new wife.

Graeme immediately formed and plan and set it into action, sending off several missives from the club before hailing Miller for one last errand, barely making it home in time.
“Your Grace,” Crandall greeted him with a raised eyebrow as Graeme dripped rainwater all over the foyer, “everything is as you requested and dinner will be served in thirty minutes.”
“Thank you, Crandall,” he told the butler as one of the twin footmen  – was this one Jasper or Joseph, Graeme could never tell them apart – stepped foreword, taking his sodden hat, gloves and greatcoat before disappearing with them.  Taking the stairs two at a time, he entered his chambers to see his valet readying his dinner clothes.
“Never mind that, Bryant, prepare something suitable for the opera tonight.”
The soft shushing of the brush against the fine wool jacket halted mid-stroke only to be replaced by Bryant’s sniff of displeasure at being interrupted, and Graeme smiled as he recalled the name Delaney had for his valet – Bryant the Tyrant – when she thought no one could hear her muttering.  He rather was a tyrant when it came to dressing a duke as befitting his station, and Lord knows Graeme did not make it easy on him!  Tonight’s outing should have the older man dancing a jig in celebration, yet one look at Bryant’s severe mien had Graeme thinking the man had never danced a jig, nor celebrated anything, in his life.

While this scene directly follows the previous one between Graeme and Stryker, it is it’s own entity.  One of the few times that two scenes will follow each other back to back.

I must admit I floundered for several days after the conclusion of the last scene.  I was at a loss and had  no idea what scene to post next.  Thanks to social media, I was able to brain storm and give you this scene between Graeme and Delaney (and Bryant).
