Where she gets scolded by her maid…
If you have not read he previous week’s Sunday Snippets, I recommend you do so first. You can find them here.
Previously on Sunday Snippets: Delaney, having come in wet from the rain, has been caught lighting the fire in her chamber and is being scolded by her lady’s maid, Nancy.

“It’s my job to fuss, Your Grace.” Tug.
“Just look at you, soaked to the skin.” Tug.
“There’s no time for me to dress you properly for dinner with you dripping on the rug.” Tug, tug, tug.
“Oh, Nancy, there’s no need to fuss,” she soothed in an attempt to placate the maid. With a final tug, the dress came loose and Delaney wiggled her arms free as the entire gown plopped to the floor. “I’ll just be taking a tray alone in my rooms. I could eat in my night rail and dressing gown and be perfectly decent,” she said lightly, stepping out of the soggy heap.
Nancy picked up the sodden gown and carried it into the dressing chamber while Delaney pulled the pins from her hair.
“But the duke is here, milady,” her voice sounded muffled, coming from the other room. “He instructed Crandall to delay dinner since he arrived late. Why, he must be next door getting ready himself!”

Oh, my! What’s a duchess to do when her duke is in residence? Especially after their encounter the previous day – oh wait… you don’t know about that yet!
It’s been a crazy week here in Authorland. The day job schedule has changed and I worked every day this week because of it. I’ve been pretty good about sticking to my goals, and am feeling very motivated to keep up with them. Especially the “Work Less, Write More” one! It’s much easier now that I’m following the Fast Draft method with my writing partners and even if I’m not making my 20 pages a day, I’m still writing more than I have been the previous three months. I’m making lots of progress, not only on this story, but another one as well.
Those new characters have been interrupting my writing and wanting me to tell their story. I finally had to appease them and write out a scene or two so I could get back to work! I’ll need to teach them some manners…
For more great snippets by great writers, head on over to WeWriWa and check them out. There’s everything from paranormal to erotica to epic fantasy and everything in between!
Happy reading and I’ll see you next week!
