Where she gets her first glimpse of a theatre…
If you have not read the previous Sunday Snippets, I recommend doing so first. You can find them here.
Previously on Sunday Snippets: Delaney and Graeme arrive at the theatre for an evening out. Their first since their marriage a few weeks before.

Delaney grasped the outstretched hand of her husband and stepped out of the carriage into cold evening air. As he tucked her hand around his arm and led her up the stairs through the wide, double doors Delaney felt her eyes grow wide at the crush of people inside.
The light from what seemed like thousands of candles illuminated the riot of colours around them. The men in their formalwear stood as backdrop to the reds, golds, and blues as they mingled together with the turbans, feathers and sparkling jewels on the women. Once inside, Graeme pulled her close to his side as the crowd pressed in and led her up the stairs and to the right. The farther from the stairs they went, the fewer people they encountered until they arrived at the end.
A footman in black and gold stood at the end of the corridor, opening a door as they approached and Delaney stepped into the private box, coming to a sudden halt. Graeme’s hands settled on her shoulders and the blood drained from her face as she realised her fit of pique had just landed her in much more trouble than she ever intended.

Come on, you can’t tell me you didn’t see Delaney’s actions backfiring on her. ;) Let’s see how Graeme handles what comes next!
Well, this week is the California Dreamin’ Conference and I am so excited! Great speakers, great workshops, great friends. Plus some extra writing time after the evening get togethers. There will be a multi-author book signing on Sunday afternoon that is open to the public so if you are in Southern California this weekend and want to meet some amazing and talented writers, this is your chance!
I have taken on some projects lately that while it seems like they will take me away from my writing, they are all part of the research process. I’ve recently been participating in the Historical Food Fortnightly challenges. Basically I have been researching, looking up recipes for and recreating Regency Era dishes in my kitchen. You can check out my attempts here. Stop by often to see what else I’ve cooked up!
This post was brought to you by the Weekly Writing Warriors. Be sure to stop by the blog to check out more writing by fabulous writers. As always, comments are more than welcome.
Happy reading and I’ll see you next week!
