Where he comes to his senses…
Previously on Sunday Snippets: Graeme, unable to resist any longer, claims Delaney with a passionate kiss.
~oOo~
Delaney sighed, the motion pushing her breasts against him, and Graeme nearly shoved her against the wall and lifted her skirts in a fit of blind desire.
A crash sounded from the passage on the other side of the thin door, and she jolted out of his arms.
Dear God, what was he thinking? They were in a public theatre and he almost took her against the wall as if she were a common harlot! Thought had obviously fled his head else he wouldn’t have behaved in such a manner – with his wife. Disgust at himself and his behavior settled low in the pit of his stomach as he reached up to disentangle her hands from his hair and push her away.
He saw a flash of… something… in her eyes before her smile faded away and her features settled into cool detachment. She looked down, refusing to meet his eyes as she tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear. Turning away, she smoothed out her skirts and straightened her gloves before opening the door and disappearing into the passage.
All without saying a word to him.

I’m sorry.
I left out the steamy bits.
This is a family friendly-ish blog, after all. You’ll just have to read the steamy bits when it’s published. And trust me, there are steamy bits. :) Besides, it would’ve taken more than the allotted ten sentences and that wouldn’t have been fair to fortune tou by breaking them up over weeks, so I opted to…jump ahead a bit.
Just when we think Graeme has made up with his wife, he goes and mauls her in a public theatre. This was no simple kiss between man and wife.
This was a Kiss with a capital K.
But it is more than that, it’s a conversation between them – they just aren’t sure of the language yet. Call it mixed signals or miscommunication, they still have much to learn about each other.
This week, while my writer friends and partners are enjoying the Big Apple and the RWA national conference, I’ll be 150 miles away celebrating Fave Nephie’s second & Fave Niece’s first birthdays. How does a conference of colleagues, mentors and fan-girling, workshops and industry professionals compete with hugs and kisses from babies?
It doesn’t even come close. ;)
As always, comments are welcome and appreciated. For more wonderful writing by wonderful authors, be sure to stop by WeWriWa and Snippet Sunday.
Happy reading and I’ll see you next week!
