London Calling

Well, I’ve done it.
I have booked my first trip to England in March 2016.
I’d be lying if I said the idea of travel to another country isn’t a little unnerving. Oddly enough, with all the recent trauma in the world, it’s not thoughts of terrorists that weigh heavily on my mind. It’s the fact that I’ll be in a foreign country for ten days…alone.
That’s right. I will be travelling halfway around the world by myself.
But, this is a trip that I need to take. I have already put it off for two years, and I cannot delay any longer. Seeing as how my books take place London and England, by not ever having been there, I feel like kind of a fraud. I mean, how can I express in writing how things look or smell or feel if I haven’t experienced them myself?  My imagination is good, and pictures and maps help, but I think this visit will lend a new depth to what I put on the page.
But, you know me… I will explore and have fun while I’m there, too. There are the standard things to do such as the London Eye, and the Museums. I am also planning on spending a day or two out in Bath, and a day-trip the Jane Austen House Museum.
But, as you know, I’m more of an off-the-beaten-path kind of gal, so I will be visiting some not so common sights. My go-to site for that is Atlas Obscura, but I will also be browsing some travel forums to see what else is out there. I know for a fact that ten days is not long enough to see everything. I also get the feeling that the city will call to me… I may never return! :)
I know I have about 12 weeks left until I leave, but it’s never too early to plan. Make sure to follow me on Facebook  for updates as to what I have planned! For those of you who have visited London, Bath and England in general, what places and sites are on your “must see” list and what are your “must eat” places?
