Sunday Snippet #61

Where anger leads to…

If you have not read the previous Sunday Snippets, I recommend doing so first. You can find them here.
Previously on Sunday Snippets: Graeme, angry  with his aunt’s unexpected intrusion at Attwood House, takes his frustration out on his wife in the form of a scold.

“I excel at rash decisions, Your Grace,” he heard her snap back. “Seeing as that’s how we ended up in this situation to begin with.”
He stalked out of the dressing room to see she hadn’t moved from where he left her.
“We are bloody married, and you call it a ‘situation’?”
She let go the blanket and he watched it slither to the floor, dragging her night rail with it enough to expose one shoulder. His eyes were drawn to the pale skin where her shoulder met her throat as she stormed across the floor in high dudgeon.
Standing before him, cheeks flushed,  glaring daggers, Graeme thought she had never looked more captivating – or more wifely. Opening her mouth to deliver what he could only imagine would be a spectacular set down, he did the only thing he could think of.
Framing her face in his hands, he claimed her lips in a fiery, passion-filled kiss. She responded in kind, arms circling around his neck as he picked her up and carried her back to bed.

Well… that’s one way to end an argument. Or at least put a halt to it for the time being. Just when you think Graeme and Delaney are going to react a certain way, they  totally surprises you. And me – that was not the way this scene was supposed to play out! Silly characters have a mind of their own.
Oh, and you will be upset with me for this! This will be my last Sunday Snippet post until January <ducking from thrown objects>. I figure I’d leave you on a positive note. 😉
You see, I have my work cut out for me with my Golden Heart entry. I’m keeping to a tight schedule (who am I kidding, my Writing  Partner Extraordinaire is keeping me to a tight schedule!) and won’t have time for extraneous blog posts. I have a couple of previously scheduled posts coming up in the next few months, and if I am able to get ahead of schedule, I may sneak an extra snippet or two.
That being said, don’t be a stranger to WeWriWa or the Snippet Sunday Facebook group. There are some über talented writers to check out!
You can always find me on Facebook and Twitter, where I spend the majority of my time while at the Day Job.
Happy reading and I’ll see you in January!  I wonder if Graeme and Delaney will have made up by then…
