What are YOU reading this summer?

Last Monday was Memorial Day – the day to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.
Here in the US Memorial Day is also referred to as the unofficial start of the Summer Season, even though the first official day of the summer isn’t until June, 21.
Begin countdown…NOW!
Coworkers, friends and my colleagues in the writing world are all making plans for their trips.  Some going as far away as Europe, others a bit closer to home.  Either way it is easy to get excited along with them while at the same time planning my own trip, imagining what sights I would visit were I to go to a specific locale.
The past several summers have been spent with friends up in the Pacific Northwest, visiting Seattle and its environs.  Lounging on the banks of Lake Crescent.  Lazy, cool days spent reading and touring the small towns along the coast.

One thing I’ve noticed popping up on my Facebook and Twitter feeds a lot this week is this most important question: What book(s) should I read while I’m on vacation?
I always love seeing people’s recommendations.  Whether they are old books or upcoming releases, it is always good to add to my TBR list.  I’ve been introduced to some fantastic books and authors this way, most I would never have thought to pick up on my own.
This week I have TWO questions for you:
1) Are you going away for any or part of the summer or are you enjoying a “staycation” at home?
2) What book(s) are you going to read – or are waiting to read – this summer?
I can’t wait to hear your replies, I always need more books in my TBR!

Oh… In case you were wondering, there are only 20 days until summer officially begins.  ;-)
